The 2024 edition of Rétromobile unfolds with a distinctly British theme - "so British". This year, we celebrate the centenary of MG, an iconic brand originating from Great Britain. Rétromobile promises a captivating journey into the history of MG, blending previously unseen archives and rare models never before exhibited in France.
For more information, visit the dedicated Centenary MG page on the Rétromobile website.
From the avant-garde MG Type M to the records set by the MG EX 181, and its integration into major global automotive groups, the octagonal emblem of MG has left an indelible mark on its era and continues to shine in the realm of vintage cars. Whether at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Tourist Trophy, or the Monte Carlo Rally, MG has made its mark in prestigious races and record-breaking venues worldwide.
In collaboration with the MG Club of France and the British Motor Museum, a unique exhibition will showcase a dozen exceptional vehicles, including the 1925 Old MG Number One and the 1938 MG EX135. In line with the Rétromobile 2024 theme, the 1957 MG EX181, once driven by Stirling Moss and Phil Hill, will take center stage in the main exhibition.
Today owned by the SAIC group, MG will also be present at the event with a retrospective dedicated to the brand's roadsters.
The MG story began in 1924, and the cars designed by Cecil Kimber quickly captured the hearts of enthusiasts. Rétromobile, an ideal setting to celebrate a century of automotive passion, provides a unique opportunity to discover or rediscover exceptional vehicles that have made history by setting records and winning legendary races, according to Clément Lefèvre, PR Manager of MG Motor France.
For this 48th edition, celebrating MG's centenary was a natural choice, emphasizes Romain Grabowski, Director of Rétromobile. Beyond achievements, MG also embodies chic and affordable roadsters, highly sought after today by numerous collectors.
Alongside this event, Cover Company, a manufacturer of high-quality car covers, showcases its premium range specially designed to protect MG cars. Images of our car covers for MG highlight our commitment to preserving these precious vehicles, in perfect harmony with the timeless elegance of MG.
In Conclusion, Rétromobile 2024 promises to be an unmissable gathering for vintage car enthusiasts, with the centenary celebration of MG in the spotlight. The fascinating history of the brand and its iconic models will be illuminated, offering visitors a unique experience. Cover Company is proud to contribute to this celebration by emphasizing the protection of these valuable vehicles with its premium cover range.
