Jaguar is honoring the E-Type's first racing victories with Project ZP: a collection of seven exclusive pairs of restored E-Type models inspired by the winning vehicles from 1961, driven by Graham Hill and Roy Salvadori. Each pair consists of an Oulton Blue Drophead coupe inspired by Graham Hill's original "ECD 400" with a contrasting red leather interior. The Crystal Grey Fixed-Head coupe inspired by Roy Salvadori's "BUY 1" completes the pair with a contrasting dark blue interior.
Each Project ZP model features commemorative badges, soft Bridge of Weir leather, and a custom aluminum console engraved by artist Jonny "King Nerd" Dowell. The vehicles incorporate the Jaguar Classic's XK 3.8-liter inline-six engine with a unique five-speed manual transmission and a short-shift ratio.
In late 2023, Jaguar's SV Bespoke customization team will unveil a limited production of combined F-TYPE models inspired by the E-Type ZP Collection.
To pay homage to the iconic E-Type's winning legacy, Jaguar Classic has created seven exclusive pairs of E-Type ZP Collection vehicles. These luxurious collector's models celebrate the early competition E-Types, known as the "ZP" project cars. Just a few months after the introduction of the E-Type in 1961, these slightly modified and Jaguar-designed competition E-Types achieved their first victories.
Each pair of vehicles in the E-Type ZP Collection includes a Drophead coupe and a Fixed-Head coupe, finished with distinctive details inspired by the original race-winning cars. These models have undergone comprehensive restoration by the experts at Jaguar Classic Works in Coventry.
The two vehicles that served as inspiration are known by their registration numbers, "ECD 400" and "BUY 1," and were driven by Graham Hill and Roy Salvadori, respectively, in the 1960s. The E-Type ZP Collection includes features that commemorate the E-Type's automotive legacy and engineering enhancements to enhance customer enjoyment.
The E-Type ZP Collection is the ultimate tribute to the triumphant debut of the E-Type in competition, which is part of Jaguar's extraordinary history in the world of motorsport. Each pair of vehicles tells a fascinating and often unknown story of the E-Type's history. The ZP Collection pays homage to both the vehicles and their drivers in each track victory. Jaguar Classic's craftsmen have dedicated 2,000 hours to each vehicle, ensuring our most discerning customers can enjoy a unique tribute to two of the greatest vehicles in E-Type history," says Paul Barritt, Director of Jaguar Classic.
In late 2023, Jaguar's SV Bespoke customization team will present a limited production of combined F-TYPE ZP models inspired by the E-Type ZP Collection. Fourteen of these supercharged Jaguar V8 5.0 models will be reserved for E-Type ZP Collection customers, creating an exclusive and commemorative group of vehicles.
