Autostadt joins Audi, Škoda, Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Volkswagen Classic Parts on a stand measuring some 1,400 square metres in Hall 3. Porsche will also be represented here. This season, the Stuttgart-based automaker is celebrating 60 years of Porsche 911, organised by eight dedicated clubs.
Conversely, fans will find the grandiose marque with the star bonnet emblem in Hall 1. Actively supported by Mercedes-Benz, various brand clubs – including the supercharger club – will be presenting classic models of all major model series here. Mercedes-Benz Classic will also contribute some exceptional exhibits to Essen. A show highlight will be the last Mercedes-Benz 600 ever built.
Old-stagers and rookies themselves will for the first time have an opportunity to take a ride in a classic Mercedes-Benz in outdoor arena 2. Many guests – undoubtedly also the younger generation – will find this a hugely memorable experience, and perhaps this will be the first step towards their entry into this vibrant scene.
The focus will also be on the Italian cult and luxury marque Ferrari
Generations of automobile fans have been entranced by the impressive models made in Maranello. Eberlein Automobile will be supporting motor-car manufacturer Ferrari S.p.A at TECHNO-CLASSICA. Since 2017, Eberlein has been officially authorised to bear the label Officina Ferrari Classiche. Michael Schumacher’s Formula 1 racing car from the 2005 season is showcased in the presentation. It recalls the career of the massively talented racing driver from Kerpen. Ferrari will present the increasingly important authentication certificate in the course of its appearance at the show.
A great tradition at TECHNO-CLASSICA is providing a venue for a large number of active clubs. The show will host more than 200 of these clubs. This fascinatingly large private commitment impressively sets the scene for historic models of many large marques. They include BMW and Fiat, Ford and Opel, naturally also Japanese manufacturers. The public will be able to marvel at a new edition of the “Citroën Road” in a comprehensive and lavish presentation – this year celebrating the 75th birthday of the Duck. The initiative has been backed by the show cooperative of German Citroën and Panhard Clubs.
Crème de la crème of international oldtimer dealers
TECHNO-CLASSICA has an illustrious history as an important trading place for oldtimer, classic and prestige automobiles, racing cars and motorcycles. A direct comparison of a large bandwidth of offerings can only be made at a live event, offering an ideal venue for spontaneous negotiations. TECHNOCLASSICA traditionally offers unsurpassed variety, quality and breadth.
It’s therefore no surprise that the crème de la crème of international dealers and leading auction houses such as RM Sotheby’s und Artcurial will once again be coming to Essen in 2023. They will travel from all over Europe, from Scandinavia and Italy, the Baltic and the United Kingdom, Hungary and France, as well as from overseas. The sheer quantity of automobiles is not the only fillip in the eight halls. Above all, it is the unique quality coming together here that is stupendous.
Even a European premiere will be celebrated at TECHNO-CLASSICA 2023:
Restomod specialist Kreinzel is presenting its Porsche 993 Targa, a model with amazingly impressive coherence in the spirit of the classic Targa, which never existed in this pure-blooded form from Porsche. Once again, the outdoor arena will be transformed into a showground for numerous oldtimer offers. The mood here will be especially lively and very international. Traditionally, a lot of small providers from abroad use this stage to present their exotica to the autodom public.
Artisan artistry, craftsmanship and service providers complement the large portfolio
Alongside the historic vehicles, TECHNO-CLASSICA also presents lots of exciting topics from the sector. The German Oldtimer-Youngtimer Association DEUVET will be represented, together with major automobile clubs and insurers. Automobile fandom will also have a wide range of replacement parts and publications alongside automobilia and lifestyle items. The International Road of Automobile Artistry, Artists’ Road for short, yields lots of insights into the work of talented specialists.

Evergreen popular magnets of attraction for many visitors include the stands of social-housing charity Lebenshilfe Gießen with its unique oldtimer donation campaign and children’s heart-disease charity Stiftung Kinderherz. Both of these charitable organisations will once more be represented at the show, and children’s cancer charity Kinderkrebshilfe will be present at the Oldtimer Market. They all do a great deal of good through oldtimers and pursue their charitable goals with generous enthusiasm.
Once again, much-coveted trophies will be awarded to the winners of two contests at TECHNO-CLASSICA. In the Concours d’Elegance, an expert jury will select the most beautiful exhibits from the large number of entries in different classes and will additionally award the Best of Show.
